Villa Montalvo, Saratoga

I started working with Julie to plan and design her wedding approximately one month before her wedding date - her busy work schedule had kept her from having the time to freely plan her wedding until one month prior, and she was in desperate need of professional assistance. Within that month, we worked together to bring together design elements and a vendor team that would bring together Julie’s vision for an elegant and romantic yet effortless celebration of their marriage at the historic Villa Montalvo. The result was an absolute dream!

These images captured by the amazingly talented Jen Huang nearly made me swoon when I first looked through the gallery - I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!

Since her wedding was set in September, we pulled elements from a seasonal autumn palette, and married those deeper tones with soft, lush blooms. Amanda Vidmar picked up our vision from the design board I sent her so seamlessly, and it was an absolute joy to work with her. Her work perfectly complemented the Italian-esque architecture of the mansion and estate grounds, where guests first attended their ceremony in the aptly named Love Garden. The arched gates and long, tree-lined aisle made for the perfect dramatic yet dreamy entrance. After Julie and Creighton exchanged their vows, they joined their guests for cocktail hour in the estate courtyard.

Dinner was presented on the veranda, where guests were seated at long banquet tables adorned with lush floral centerpieces and gold-accented tableware placed upon luxe, velvet table linens. The pale blues and greys we chose complemented the rich mauves and blushes of their florals perfectly, presenting a color palette that was elegant and romantic without being overly feminine.

Julie and Creighton’s wedding day would not be complete without the presence of their adorable labradoodle, Summer, who absolutely loved the attention (and treats) everyone showered upon her. During their reception, Julie also surprised Creighton but singing a song she dedicated to him - I love it when my couples plan sweet surprises for each other! Guests ended the evening with dancing and desserts, including a beautiful gold-foiled cake, as the sun dipped behind the hills, casting golden light over Villa Montalvo.
